When you call a one nine hundred number, you agree to PAY whatever charges per minute that the individual/company that you are calling has predetermined.

One scam center sends PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY faxes by the thousands. You receive a fax that asks for your vote on a question. You vote by calling a published YES number or a published NO number. Each begins with 1-900. The question you are asked to answer often hits a nerve; e.g., "Do you think that gay male couples should be allowed to adopt baby boys?" or "Do you think that second trimester abortions should be legal?" If you fall for this scam and pick up your phone to vote, you're likely to see a large charge on your next phone bill.
